1. Who we are
TengoChat is operated by TengoFeed, Inc ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to use TengoChat. By creating an account you confirm this and that the date of birth you give is accurate. We suspend accounts we reasonably believe belong to minors.
3. What TengoChat is
TengoChat lets you create fictional AI companions and talk with them by text and, where available, by voice and video. Companions are software. They are not people, they do not have feelings, and what they say is generated by machine learning models that can be wrong. Nothing a companion says is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
4. Your account
Keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity on your account. One person per account; accounts cannot be transferred.
5. Companions and likeness
Portraits are generated from your written description and are original. You may upload a photo of yourself to base your own companion on; you may not upload a photo of anyone else, and you may not describe or name a real person in order to imitate them. We remove companions that break this rule and may close the account.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use TengoChat to create or request sexual content involving minors; to harass, threaten or defame anyone; to impersonate a real person; to try to access other people's data; to interfere with the service; or to break any law. Conversations are screened automatically for these categories and may be reviewed by our team when flagged.
7. Plans, minutes and payment
Paid plans renew every month until you cancel. Call minutes that come with a plan are available during that billing period and do not roll over; minutes you buy in a pack do not expire while your account is open. Prices are shown before you pay and may change with notice at your next renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. You can cancel at any time from your plan page and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are handled under applicable consumer law.
8. Your content
You own what you write. You give us the permission we need to store and process it to run the service for you, including sending it to the AI, speech and video providers that power your companion. We do not sell your conversations and we do not use them to advertise to you.
9. Wellbeing
TengoChat is not a substitute for human relationships or for professional care. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. Companions are designed to say this too.
10. Ending the service
You can delete your account from Settings at any time; this removes your companions, conversations and memories. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
11. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law rules, except where your local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be waived.
13. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use TengoChat after that means you accept the new terms.
